Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.

Alfred Tennyson, In Memoriam

[I can’t help but think that Tennyson never loved and lost. Because the ignorance of never having loved is far less painful than losing someone you’ve loved.]

  2. happysecret said: I disagree— because of how much you grow as a person and learn about yourself. If you’re looking only at pain, sure. But you have to look at more than just that. You’re not the same as you were before the love was there.
